Visitations
(for duo saxophones)
Masterclass/Play-Along CD
by Frank Bongiorno

|
Visitations is certainly written in the contemporary compositional style previously described. While Fox prefers not to use labels when describing his music he has said that his music “continued to breakdown the diatonic structure to make it more chromatic” but that he “doesn’t consider tonality when composing.” The saxophone parts for Visitations also incorporate numerous extended techniques for the saxophonist to perform, including altissimo, timbre changes, multiphonics, and flutter tongue, among others.
