The saxophone is one of the most expressive voices in instrumental music today. The focus of this Saxophone Journal masterclass (play-along) CD is to present tenor saxophone soloists who developed their own unique style of playing the tenor.
It is also the purpose of this masterclass CD to help today’s saxophonists, who gig in a variety of settings, to develop an ability to change their sound and style of playing, just as the chameleon changes its appearance. The ability to manipulate tone quality, dynamic changes, depth of vibrato, and especially expression, makes playing the saxophone a unique challenge, like no other acoustic instrument.
